OUR PROGRAMS

 

Our mission is to help as many low-income kids as possible experience high-quality and effective social and emotional learning. We work towards this aim because research shows that strong social and emotional skills are key to helping kids succeed in school, be prepared for the workforce, and become positive and healthy contributors to society.



Publications produced by the IOP are key to its aims of exerting influence on physics-related policy and promoting interest and participation in physics across society.

The IOP commissions reviews on policy issues affecting physics research and its application in the UK and Ireland. We compile evidence and issue authoritative reports on issues such as the contribution of physics to the economy, the finances of university physics departments, or the status and impact of research in different disciplines of physics.

We also publish papers highlighting exciting new areas of research in physics and potential impact. From fundamental areas such as the quest to understand the forces of nature to the security applications of terahertz radiation, these papers show how physics pervades all areas of science.
